Itinerary 

Day 1 - Arusha

Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport and transfer to Olerai Lodge for overnight.

Day 2 - Lake Manyara NP

Breakfast at the Lodge. Drive to Lake Manyara, arriving with plenty of time for game-drive. Lunch taken as picnic lunch. Located beneath the cliffs of the Manyara Escarpment, on the edge of the Rift Valley, Lake Manyara National Park is famous for its large alkaline soda lake which is home to the pink flamingo, yellow-billed stork and heron. If you are lucky, you may get chance to see the tree climbing lions, which are unique to this national park. Watch out for some fun antics from the local baboon population; Lake Manyara is believed to have the largest number of these primates in the World! Dinner and overnight at Baghayo Garden Suites.

Day 3 – Ngorongoro Crater/Serengeti NP

After breakfast you will depart with picnic lunch boxes to Ngorongoro Crater. Situated some 190 km, west of Arusha between Lake Manyara and Serengeti National Parks and covers an area of over 8,000 sq. km. the Ngorongoro Crater at 2,286 meters above sea level is the highest unbroken crater in the world. Surrounded by very steep walls rising 610 meters above the crater floor, this natural amphitheatre covers an area of about 260 sq. km and is home to unto 30,000 animals, almost half of them zebras and wildebeests. Such vast numbers attract predators a plenty, mainly lion and hyena but also cheetah and leopard. The Ngorongoro has been declared a World Heritage Site and is regarded as the eighth wonders of the world. Descend the steep walls into the UNESCO world heritage site of Ngorongoro Crater floor for (5 hours) game viewing drive. In the afternoon you will ascend the Crater Floor and proceed to the mighty Serengeti National Park arriving at your camp in time for dinner. Overnight at Baobab Serengeti Camp.

Day 4 – Serengeti NP [follow the migration]

Breakfast at the Lodge. Game viewing drive in Serengeti (depending on the season, it will determine where you’ll spend most time in Serengeti). Dinner and overnight at a camp close to the migration area.

Day 5 – Serengeti NP [follow the migration]

Early start, tea and coffee will be served at the lodge, thereafter, proceed on a pre-dawn game viewing drive returning to your camp for a full breakfast. Continue on a game viewing drive, lunch at the camp. In the late afternoon proceed on a game viewing drive.

Covering an area of 14,763 sq. km, the Serengeti National Park is arguably the best-known wildlife sanctuary in the world. Serengeti means “endless plains’ in the Maasai language and within its boundaries are more than three million large mammals. About 35 species of plains animals can be seen here including, the so-called big five – elephant, rhino, lion, leopard, and buffalo. From June, huge herds of wildebeest, gazelle and zebra head north and begin their spectacular migration heading for the world-renowned Maasai Mara National Reserve. All meals and overnight at a camp close to the migration area.

Depending on the time of the year and the rains it will determine where you will spend the most time to follow the Wildebeests and Zebras on their migration route. 

Nov ~ 4 nights Baobab Serengeti Camp (Central)

Dec - Mar ~ 2 nights Ndutu Bush Camp and 2 nights Baobab Serengeti Camp (Central)

Apr – May ~ 4 nights Baobab Serengeti Camp (Central)

Jun – mid-Jul ~ 2 nights Sound of Silence (Western) and 2 nights Baobab Serengeti Camp (Central)

Mid-Jul – Oct ~ 2 nights Baobab Mara Luxury Camp (Northern) and 2nights Baobab Serengeti Camp (Central)


Day 6 – Central Serengeti NP

Breakfast at the camp. Continue with game viewing drive en route to Central Serengeti. Picnic lunch enroute. Dinner and overnight at Baobab Serengeti Camp.

Day 7 – Karatu Area

Early start, tea and coffee will be served at the camp, thereafter, proceed on a pre-dawn game viewing drive returning to your camp for a full breakfast. Continue on a game viewing drive in Serengeti NP. Mid -afternoon depart on a scenic drive through Ngorongoro Conservation Area, arriving in Karatu in the evening. Dinner and overnight at Marera Valley Lodge.

Day 8 – Tarangire NP

Breakfast at the lodge. Drive to Tarangire NP with packed lunch. Lunch inside the park. Tarangire offers some amazing chances of catching Tanzania’s wildlife! During your game drive, stay on the lookout for gazelles, elephants, leopards, cheetahs, olive baboons, lions, and much more! Be on the lookout for incredible bird varieties like yellow-collared lovebirds, hammerkops, plovers, and more! Seeing God’s diverse creation within their natural habitat is nothing short of breathtaking. Dinner and overnight at Sangaiwe Tented Lodge.

Day 9 – Tarangire NP

Breakfast at the lodge. Full day game viewing drive in Tarangire NP. All meals and overnight at Sangaiwe Tented Lodge.

Day 10 – Depart

Breakfast at the lodge. Then drive back to Arusha and transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport (an extension to Zanzibar possible on request).
